About this Product
Ladies have been beautiful in their many presentations and talents for a very very long time.
I choose the images for my pendants with care—each image in a pairing is meant either to complement or echo the other. They speak to me personally, and I hope you find them to reverberate with you as well. Sometimes they show two versions of a similar concept, sometimes they are opposing or seemingly un-alike images to play off the fact that we all have more than one side to our personalities. (The pendant around model's neck is NOT the one you see for sale here; it is included as an example of how these pendants can be worn, and for a size reference) The pendant can be worn as a necklace on a ribbon, or a chain; can be added to a charm bracelet; kept as a special memento or good luck charm in your pocket (I can remove the jump ring from any pendant if you like); wrapped around bouquets; made into ornaments; incorporated into costuming, etc.

Meet the Maker
Inspiration for my creations comes from wanting to use and re-use things that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Seeing beauty and highlighting that in my art is a manifestation of my worldview: we can all do our part to make the world a better place. Sometimes my ideas come to me in dreams, a lot of the time, my ideas come to me through working with the materials--they direct me.
I used to make art and jewelry as a part-time job in my 'free time' outside of my wage-work. Since becoming chronically ill, I make things as a way to celebrate the scant energy I occasionally have for being creative. I am mostly housebound, often bed bound, and your support helps me feel like I'm still a part of the world at large.
How it’s Made
These pendants are made from reclaimed glass windows that were headed for the landfill. Each piece is handmade, and I strive for excellence as I make each one, but imperfections may remain as a vestige of the fact that the pendant was made by hand. Each one is cleaned and polished before being presented to you for sale. There may be tiny paint spatters on the glass from when the windows were painted, but I try to put these imperfections on the outside so that you can scrape them off with a razor if they bother you. I like the rustic, proof-that-the-glass-is-reclaimed nature of such “imperfections”. The smallest side measures 1 inch across, unless otherwise noted, you can estimate the measurement of the other side by comparison. Each pendant is ¼ inch thick. The images are printed on acid free paper so that the image should not fade with age. The glass is hand-cut, and the solder used is lead-free, jewelry grade solder. If you have an image that you would like me to make into a pendant for you (or a couple!), please email me: alyssum.pohl [!at] gmail.com to arrange this. I can add a sterling silver snake chain for an additional $10.
Shop Policies
Processing Time: I do my best to get items in the mail within 2 business days. As someone with complex chronic illness, however, it may take longer if I'm in a flare.
Return Policy: I do not accept returns.
Care Instructions: As with any jewelry, the easier you treat it, the longer it will last. The double-sided pendants are not water proof. The tin earrings are water proof, although some of the older tins may rust as they have a higher iron content (I think this patina only adds to their charm).
Shipping Within The US Only: If you live elsewhere, please contact me and I'll set up shipping with you. I can not ship to Italy unfortunately.
FAQ's: LMK if you have Qs and I'll start making an FAQ section :)
